Tips for Submitting
- We recommend that you review the Oracle OpenWorld CFP user's manual before you begin. Download the Oracle OpenWorld CFP user's manual .

- It is not necessary to submit multiple entries (for example: as a customer and then again as a member of a user group) on the same topic as all submissions will be reviewed centrally.
- Be sure to verify your contact information and content information before submitting.
Paper Submission Fields
- Title*: 80 characters maximum, including spaces (approximately 12 to 17 words). Create a title that is clear and concise. Attendees will often select sessions based on the title.
- Description*: 750 characters maximum. Be clear about the value of this presentation to attendees.
- Primary Track*: Tell us at a broad level, what category this falls under. Refer to the list of Streams and Primary Tracks on the Tracks tab.
- Secondary Track: Optionally, tell us the secondary track category for this session. Refer to the list of Secondary Tracks on the Tracks tab.
- Tags: Tags give you the ability to further describe what your session is about. Maximum selection of 5 tags. A list of possible tags is available on the Tracks tab.
- Session Type*: Session Types tell us the format of the session.
- Session Category*: Session Categories tell us what sort of information you will be providing in your session.

General Policies
- Standard presentations will be 60 minutes. We suggest you allocate 10 minutes for a Q&A period within that timeframe.
- All submissions must include at least one speaker in order to be considered.
- Do not include proprietary or confidential material in your abstracts or session content.
- Make sure you have permission to submit any material that you have obtained from others.
- The content team will notify submitters and/or speakers via e-mail around mid-May 2010 if their papers have been accepted or declined.
- External invited speakers are offered a complimentary pass that provides access to all Oracle OpenWorld and JavaOne + Develop sessions. Acceptance must be in compliance with the policies of your employer, including conflict, ethics and gift policies.
- The complimentary pass will be canceled if the session is canceled or replaced. The complimentary pass is limited to one pass per speaker and is not transferable except as allowed by written agreement.
- Oracle does not reimburse speakers for their travel and expense costs, and speakers are responsible for any applicable taxes, custom duties or other expenses related to acceptance of the complimentary pass.
- Deadlines must be met. Any requests received after the deadline may not be approved. Any missed deadlines can result in cancellation of sessions.
- Speakers are responsible for notifying the content team with any speaker change request or if a session needs to be canceled. All requests should be sent to speaker-services_ww@oracle.com with 1) the session ID; 2) title; and 3) reason for request.
- Oracle reserves the right to edit session information for clarity, length, style, and to ensure correct use of Oracle product names (Oracle product names must not be truncated or abbreviated, for example).
- Oracle cannot release attendees' information. This is in accordance with our privacy policy.
- By accepting the speaking invitation, you authorize Oracle to promote, publish, and disseminate content submitted to Oracle for use at the 2010 Oracle OpenWorld and JavaOne + Develop conferences.
- Invited speakers will need to be able to accept the terms of the 2010 Oracle OpenWorld and JavaOne + Develop Speaker Consent form. The speaker consent form is provided below.
- Oracle submitters should work with the appropriate Oracle track leads.
Oracle OpenWorld 2010 and JavaOne + Develop 2010 Speaker Consent Form
On behalf of myself and my company/organization, which is designated below ("Organization"), and in consideration of my participation in the Event, I grant Oracle (and its designated contractors), and its subsidiaries and affiliates under common control ("Oracle") the following permissions in connection with Oracle OpenWorld 2010 and JavaOne + Develop 2010, which are scheduled to take place September 19-23, 2010 (the "Event"):
- Permission to use my name, biographic material, likeness, and portrait (hereinafter collectively referred to as my ?Likeness?) for the purpose of publicizing my presentation(s) at/participation in the Event (my "Presentation").
- Permission to make sound and visual recordings of my Presentation (the "Recordings").
- Permission to use, copy, translate, reformat, broadcast, publish, and distribute all or parts of my Presentation, the Recordings, a transcript of the Recordings, and any presentation materials that I provide to Oracle and use in connection with my Presentation (the "Presentation Materials"). This includes, without limitation, the right to make and distribute a DVD of the Event proceedings that contains the Recordings and Presentation Materials, the right to distribute the Presentation Materials via download from the Oracle Web site, and the right to distribute, broadcast and rebroadcast my Presentation as part of Event proceedings and archives that Oracle makes available on its Web site. Any such use must be in connection with the Event, and must not be misleading or reflect negatively on my Organization or me.
I understand that neither my Organization nor I will receive any compensation for granting these permissions. Oracle is not granted any other permissions or rights with respect to my Likeness, my Presentation, the Recordings, or the Presentation Materials.
I: (1) confirm that I am the person named in this consent form; (2) grant this permission and agree to the terms and conditions set forth above on behalf of my Organization and myself; (3) have authority to agree to such terms and conditions on behalf of my Organization; and (4) confirm that no further consents or permissions are required by Oracle in order to use the Presentation Materials.
